Hello

We’ve set up a 0% temporary arranged overdraft on your account.

On 15 August we had a problem with our 365 mobile app and online banking services. We’re sorry this happened. During this time, you couldn’t check your account balance. You could still withdraw money and make payments even though there wasn’t enough money in your account. As a result, your account became overdrawn.

What are you doing to support me?

We’ve set up a temporary overdraft on your account. The next page explains the details of this. A temporary overdraft gives you a way to access money when there isn’t enough in your account. It’s a form of borrowing and will only be in place for a short time. If you already have an arranged overdraft, this is a temporary increase on top of that amount.

You won’t pay any interest for the temporary overdraft while it’s in place, and we’ll automatically refund any interest or charges caused by the problem. We’ll also make sure there are no negative credit reference impacts to you while you were overdrawn because of the incident.

Is my temporary overdraft in place now?

Yes, we’ve put it in place. You’ll see this on your 365 mobile app and online banking.

Your temporary overdraft will end on 23 November 2023. To avoid interest and charges it’s important that you pay back what you owe before this date. We’ll be in touch with you before then to remind you.

What if I don’t want a temporary overdraft – can I cancel it?

If you’d like to cancel this temporary overdraft, please call us on 0800 085 0444*(lines are open Monday to Friday 9am -5pm). We’ll only cancel it before 23 November if the amount owed has been repaid in full.

Where can I get more information, help, and support?

You can find out more by visiting bankofirelanduk.com/faqs-bank-of-ireland-customer-disruption. If you have any questions, please contact us on 0345 736 5555*(lines are open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, Saturday 9am – 2pm, Sunday closed).
